The Mind Museum: A Mind Boggling Trip

Have you ever tried going to a museum lately? It's fun doing this kind of activity once in a while. You got to explore new things and it reminds me of my exciting field trip days during elementary so when I heard that the school will have a trip there, I just can't help myself but to get excited. After all, it's said to be one of the best science museum here in Luzon.

The first thing one notices about the Mind Museum is its very distinctive brand of architecture. While most structure around the BGC area soars towards the sky, the museum hugs the ground with its sleek, almost organic design. Famed architect, Ed Calma, made sure its form follows its function; he based it on cellular growth and structures. Err… It can’t be more scientific than that, right? Even I don’t understand what that is.

First - Science in the Park. It is the outdoor interactive part of The Mind Museum. We stayed there for less than an hour because our trip inside the building is about to start. Even If it was just an hour expect scorching heat from the sun.

"The Museum's lively part"

As you enter upon the entrance, you will see Aedi. Aedi is your guide so listen to him carefully. Also the name Aedi came from the word Idea which was reversed and there you have Aedi's name.

"Aedi is Idea, Idea is Aedi"

In between presentations, we checked out Mind Museum’s permanent galleries. First was the Atom Gallery where we explored the unseen world of atoms and molecules. Geek stuff right? I hated chemistry when I was in high school but this looks like fun!

In the Atom Gallery, there was this metal ball shaped wherein when you touched it static electricity will travel in your veins. It was one of the fun activity in the Atom Gallery.

We went to the Universe gallery, inside showcases the galaxy and everything about outer space. This is my favorite part especially how the stars are being presented.

I wish I was in this suit

This Tunnelcraft connects the Universe Gallery and the Earth Gallery, this rotating tunnel features imagery from the Hubble telescope to simulate travel between outer space and Earth. I remember that we kept on pushing each other until one of us feels sick. I almost puked in this but it was fun.

As we crossed the tunnel and entered the Earth Gallery, a huge and bad boy gave us a huge welcome. Unfortunately these are not made from authentic dinosaur bones but it is molded from a real one, good enough for me at least. There are real dino bones at the base of the exhibit though, and you can actually touch them too! Cool, right?

The Technology gallery was a huge blast too. I was amazed by how old and new technology don't differ much when it comes to entertainment. We were spending our time with our faces in awe.

The Life Gallery was up next but we were all tired and decided to just rest and wait for the others at Aedi's station. There were still areas we were unable to explore, like the Botanical Garden and the Life Gallery. Well, it’s actually an incentive to go back to the Mind Museum, which is something I really wouldn’t mind doing; the Mind Museum is a total geek heaven!

We were not expecting to have fun because we thought it was too boring. Still, something came out of us that we weren't expecting and that was our childhood. We enjoyed too much that we didn't notice we were just like the little kids with us. That was something that The Mind Museum gave me and something that we wouldn't forget.
