Boracay. A place where the famous
white sands could be found. A place where fun and excitement begins. A place
where tourists visit from all over the globe.
A place where you can relax and enjoy with your friends or family. A
place where the famous pulsing nightlife houses. And a place where the fun
never stops.
Boracay is located on the western
part of Visayas, specifically in the province of Aklan, one of the four provinces in Panay Island. The whole
island, shaped like a dog-bone, and only 7kms long and 1km wide at its
narrowest. The main tourism area, White Beach, is 4km long and is divided into three
stations- Station 1, Station 2 and Station 3.
Boracay houses a lot of various
tourists attractions like Diving which is mostly found at Station 3 and other
water related activities which are most likely found within the premises of
station 1 and 2. Boracay is also the place where the white beach never sleeps.
Hop from reggae bars, clubs, and pubs offering happy hours every night!
There is only one way to reach
Boracay Island from Caticlan Jetty Port and that is through by motor boats. But
there are various ways to reach the Caticlan Jetty Port. One is to fly by plane
to Caticlan Airport or Kalibo Airport. Another way is by Land and Sea. But if
you want a more convenient way, I
suggest you travel by plane. Upon arriving in Caticlan Jetty Port, tourists
have to pay an Environmental Fee, a Terminal Fee and a Boat fee worth all in
all about 200Php. The ferry from Caticlan to Boracay (Cagban Port and Tambisaan
Port) runs from 5:00AM to 6:00PM There are ferries that travel at night from
6:00PM to 10:00PM that costs 30Php. There are some ferries that sail after 10PM
called Night Navigation, But you ave to check and book with a special
transportation service. Both Cagban and Tambisan Port are located on the
southern tip of the island. From either of the ports, it will take you 10 to 15
minutes to go to White Beach. There is a terminal of chartered tricycles
outside the port which costs 150Php for a maximum of 5 persons.
Boracay has everything to offer for
travelers, tourists and even the locals! From the most luxurious 5-star hotels,
to mid-range accommodations. But if you are a “rich and powerful” type of
person, I suggest Henann Regency Hotel.
(Henann Regency Hotel)
Henann Regency Hotel offers
luxuriate within its 302 world-class rooms with service that promises a
memorable experience. Enjoy the breath-taking view of the sea from one of our
tastefully designed rooms that evoke elegance and comfort.
But if you’re in the mood for a “Middle
Class” type of hotel, I recommend Sander’s white beach resort. Ideally located
in the prime tourist area of station 2, Sander’s White Beach Resort promises a
relaxing and wonderful visit. To be found at the hotel are free Wi-Fi in all
rooms, express check-in/check-out, luggage storage, Wi-Fi in public areas, room
service.

And even if you think that costs
too much money, I suggest Melinda’s Garden. Melinda’s garden offers cottages that
are built in native style with natural materials and furnished with a double or
two single beds, tables, chairs, wardrobe, electric fan and a hammock on the
veranda. The cottages are cleaned everyday and are good maintained.

But if you want a more relaxing
vibe, away from all the commotion and noise, I suggest you go to the opposite
side of the island called Bulabog Beach. Bulabog Beach is the most ideal beach
for sports enthusiasts where the gather to surf and sail their kites.
(Bulabog Beach)
Before it was one of the most
famous tourist spots in the Philippines, Boracay was once populated by the Ati
tribe. For a long time, the island was home to little more than a few villages
and was merely a dot on the map as far as most tourism was concerned.
Backpackers were among the first to
discover the beauty of this tropical paradise in the early 1970s. Allegedly,
however, it was the arrival of a foreign movie crew that initially drew
publicity to the island as well as a number of positive references in a travel
work written by German writer Jens Peters.
Once the world caught wind of this
well kept secret, the island changed from being a secluded budget traveler's
retreat to a popular holiday destination, attracting investments by large
private firms and leading to the creation of a plethora of tourist resorts.
Overall, Boracay is truly a place for relaxation and excitement. despite the growing population of the island, yet it never fails to amaze me.
